Description
My bread boxes are made out of either solid solid cherry or red oak (with matching hardwood panel backs) and measure 9” (H) x 15 ½” (L) x 10” (D). All four corners are dovetailed for strength and elegance and they have non-skid rubber feet attached with rust-free stainless steel screws. The bumpers elevate the bread box off the counter to protect it from spills and to allow air to freely circulate around it. There is a slot on one side to hold a bread knife and they are finished with polyurethane for protection and easy cleaning. The unattached door may be lifted off for use as a cutting board or service platter. The boards measure 8 ½” x 14 ½” and are slightly less than ¾” thick. Each is made with different combinations of cherry, walnut, maple, purple heart and paduak. They have grooves in the ends to make picking them up easier and are finished with mineral oil.
