Description
My rocking horses are a great example of what I mean by “Heirloom Quality.” More than a dozen years ago I donated one to the local children’s hospital where it has since received heavy daily use and it’s still going strong. Recently, the same hospital ordered two more, as the one I had previously donated was “the only one that hasn’t fallen apart.” Each horse is constructed of solid cherry, walnut and maple and weighs in at nearly 25 lbs. They measure 44” (l) x 26” (h) x 15” (w) and are held together with carpenter’s glue and 81 screws. Each receives a minimum of 3 coats of polyurethane for superior protection.

RycoDesign –
The Children’s Hospital a Dartmouth has several of David’s rocking horses. They are all in waiting areas in very busy pediatric ambulatory care spaces. Each horse is used by hundreds of children each week. The horses are made with superior craftsmanship and despite being very well loved, have never needed repair. They are lovely toys.
